The Last Ecstatic Days is a deeply moving documentary that explores what it means to face the end of life with openness, courage, and connection.
The film follows Ethan Sisser, a young man with terminal brain cancer who makes an extraordinary choice: rather than spend his final days isolated in a hospital, he invites a film crew into his life and asks that his dying be shared openly. With the support of his family and a compassionate end-of-life care team, Ethan’s final journey becomes an intimate exploration of love, fear, grief, presence, and what it means to truly live while facing death.
Both tender and thought-provoking, The Last Ecstatic Days invites viewers to consider how we approach dying—not simply as a medical event, but as a profound human experience. The film opens the door to meaningful conversations about end-of-life care, dignity, connection, and how embracing our mortality can deepen our appreciation for life.
