A Home In the Berkshires

East Mountain House sits on a quiet street in Lakeville, Connecticut—a renovated home filled with natural light, surrounded by the peaceful landscape of the Berkshires.

This is not a medical facility. It’s a home. The kind of place where you might curl up with a book in a comfortable chair, where families gather around the kitchen dining table, where windows frame views of changing seasons.

Our home accommodates up to two guests at a time, each in their own private room. Common spaces invite gathering—a living room where conversations unfold, a kitchen where volunteers prepare meals, outdoor areas for fresh air and quiet reflection.

We chose this intimate scale intentionally. With only two residents at a time, attention remains personal. Staff and volunteers learn each person’s rhythms, preferences, and needs. Families find space to be present without feeling overwhelmed.

The photos below offer a glimpse of our home. But the real essence of East Mountain House isn’t captured in images—it’s felt in the warmth of presence, the quality of attention, and the care that unfolds here each day.
