Cristin Gallup Rich

MSN, MES, RN, EMT

Executive Director

Cristin Gallup Rich is a longtime resident of Northwest Connecticut who brings a deep love of community, service, and compassionate care to her role as Executive Director of East Mountain House. Having grown up in Salisbury and raised her family here, Cristin has a profound connection to the people and places that define this region—and a strong belief in the power of community to care for its own during times of greatest need.

Cristin’s professional background bridges nursing, nonprofit leadership, and environmental stewardship. She is a registered nurse with experience in hospice and home health care, including her work as a clinical nurse and case manager with the former Salisbury Visiting Nurse Association. Her nursing career has focused on supporting patients and families through serious illness with dignity, education, and compassionate presence—values that closely align with the mission of East Mountain House.

In addition to her clinical work, Cristin has a history of community leadership and service. She has held nonprofit board and elected positions in Salisbury, contributed to town planning and environmental initiatives, and volunteers locally as an EMT. Her earlier career in environmental education and international service—including work with the U.S. Peace Corps—reflects a lifelong commitment to community well-being, sustainability, and service.

Cristin holds a Master of Science in Nursing Management and a certificate in Public Health Quinnipiac University, as well as a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (now the Yale School of the Environment). Her nursing master’s capstone explored the challenges of encouraging earlier access to hospice care—an issue that continues to inform her leadership at East Mountain House.

As Executive Director, Cristin is honored to support East Mountain House’s vision of compassionate, community-supported end-of-life care. She brings together her professional experience, personal values, and deep community ties to help ensure that individuals and families are met with dignity, warmth, and support at one of life’s most vulnerable moments.
